Berlin Artist Accelerator Programme 2027

by Adler & Moriarty

The A&M Berlin Artist Accelerator 2027

A selective, structured accelerator designed to develop and position artists within the Berlin art ecosystem and beyond.

Participation is limited. Progression is earned.

The focus is not on access, but on creating readiness, visibility, and meaningful opportunity.

Inspired by leading startup accelerator models such as such as Entrepreneurs First and others like YC. The programme is built around long-term development, network access, and measurable progression, with a final physical exhibition forming a key, earned outcome of the process rather than a standalone event.

The programme combines targeted art consultancy with structured introduction of each artist’s practice to the Berlin art ecosystem.

Based out of our 2027 space in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, an area long associated with Berlin’s established galleries and collectors, the programme connects artists directly to one of Europe’s most active art environments.

Berlin hosts over 440 commercial galleries, alongside a wide network of institutions, curators, and independent spaces, supported by thousands of architects, designers and collectors. Access, however, is highly competitive. Many capable artists remain under-recognised, not due to lack of quality, but due to gaps in clarity, positioning and connection.

This programme is designed to address that.

Who This Is For

This programme is designed for artists who are serious about their practice and ready to move it forward, whether they are based or not based in Berlin.

Cohort Participation is intentionally limited to approximately 30–40 artists to ensure focus, credibility and meaningful interaction.

The programme supports both development and strengthening, helping artists build what is missing and refine what already works.

It recognises that different practices connect with different audiences, from institutional and curatorial contexts to private collectors and design-led environments.

The aim is not to standardise artists, but to position them clearly and effectively within the art ecosystem.

For the founding cohort, we are looking for artists with distinctive practices who are ready to sharpen their work and position it for discovery and exhibition.

A Structured Accelerator Approach

The programme follows a staged, progression-based model.

Each stage builds specific outcomes and unlocks the next, ensuring development is practical, cumulative and aligned with professional expectations.

The Three Stages

Stage 1 — Foundation, Discovery & Direction

€149 + VAT

• Clarifying what the work is about

• Defining themes, direction and intent

• Establishing initial positioning

Stage 2 — Development, Strengthening & Visibility

€249 + VAT

Unlocked upon completion of Stage 1 milestones.

• Strengthening artistic positioning and narrative

• Refining communication across audiences

• Preparing professional presentation materials

• Inclusion in an A&M online exhibition (for one year)

• Ongoing visibility within the A&M network

Stage 3 — Berlin Exhibition

€495 + VAT

Artists who meet the Exhibition-Ready Standard are selected for a two-week curated physical exhibition in Berlin.

Each exhibition presents four artists and is designed to engage:

• Galleries and curators

• Collectors and buyers

• Architects and design professionals

• A wider engaged audience

Work is presented through public and private viewings, targeted invitations, and curated events.

A typical two-week cycle generates approximately:

• ~90–180 in-person engagements (conservative)

• ~220–400 in a strong case

The emphasis is on relevant, repeat interaction rather than one-off attendance.

This stage represents both a milestone and a professional opportunity within the programme.

Positioning & Advisory

Positioning and advisory work within the programme is led directly by one of the founder’s of Adler & Moriarty, drawing on extensive experience across art consultancy, gallery operations and creative business strategy developed over many years working across different parts of the art world.

This perspective combines a grounded understanding of how the traditional art ecosystem operates with a more adaptive, forward-looking approach to how artists can position themselves today.

The approach is intentionally focused. Each artist receives a concise, structured Positioning Assessment, designed to clarify how their work is currently understood and how it can be more effectively positioned within the Berlin ecosystem and beyond.

This includes:

• A short, considered assessment of current positioning

• Targeted, high-leverage recommendations

• A practical set of actions to improve clarity, visibility and market fit

The programme is designed as a foundation rather than ongoing consultancy.

The value is not in the number of hours, but in applying the right perspective at the right moment.

Time allocation is therefore limited relative to standard consultancy rates, reflecting the accessible nature of the programme in its first year. Where appropriate, further advisory or support may be available separately.

Exhibition-Ready Standard

Artists selected for exhibition demonstrate:

• A clear and coherent body of work

• Strong artistic positioning and narrative

• The ability to communicate with both specialist and non-specialist audiences

• Professional presentation materials

• A considered approach to display and context

This ensures exhibitions remain focused, credible and aligned with professional expectations.

Visibility & Market Alignment

A core focus of the programme is ensuring that work is not only developed, but correctly positioned.

Artists are supported in aligning their work with relevant audiences, whether curatorial, gallery, collector or design-led, depending on the nature of their practice.

The programme prioritises repeated, high-quality interactions with relevant professionals over large but unfocused attendance, reflecting how relationships and opportunities typically develop within the Berlin art ecosystem.

Art of Reason (AOR)

Artists are integrated into the Art of Reason platform as part of the programme.

AOR extends artistic work into a digital, screen-based format, enabling:

• Expanded reach to collectors

• New modes of presentation

• Greater accessibility

A Realistic Approach

The art world is highly competitive. Visibility, clarity, positioning and timing all play a role in shaping opportunity.

This programme is designed to strengthen those factors, ensuring that when opportunities arise, artists are ready to engage with them.

Progression is based on defined milestones.

Participation does not guarantee exhibition.

While outcomes such as sales or representation cannot be guaranteed, the programme provides a structured and credible platform designed to support access to these opportunities in Berlin and beyond.

This is achieved through:

• Improved clarity and positioning

• Increased visibility

• Engagement with relevant networks

• Structured pathways toward exhibition and opportunity

A limited number of artists may be invited into closer, ongoing collaboration with Adler & Moriarty.

Adler & Moriarty

Adler & Moriarty operates across two connected areas:

Representation - a focused group of artists developed and supported long-term in modern twist on the standard gallery approach

Artist Programme - a structured platform supporting artists entering or progressing within the art ecosystem

The accelerator programme acts as a bridge into the gallery system, not a substitute for it.

Participation Key Points

The total programme investment is structured across three stages and aligned with progression.

A deposit secures participation, with staged payments aligned to each phase.

Artists receive 80% of sale proceeds (after applicable taxes), with a 20% gallery commission.

Artists are responsible for transport of works to and from Berlin.

Full terms are provided upon acceptance.
