International Collaborations
Berlin-based exhibition, research and engagement projects with selected artists, galleries, curators and cultural organisations.
Art Berlin by A&M develops selected international projects that use Berlin as a context for exhibition, dialogue and professional engagement.
Our focus is on projects where a Berlin presentation can support meaningful artistic positioning, cultural exchange and longer-form connection. The exhibition may act as the anchor, but the wider project can also include curatorial development, research, communication, professional engagement, events, documentation and follow-up.
A Berlin Framework
Berlin offers a dense and active cultural environment, with a wide network of galleries, curators, collectors, designers, architects, institutions and independent spaces.
For international artists, galleries and cultural organisations, access to this ecosystem can be valuable but difficult to approach without structure. A&M works selectively to help develop projects that are clearly positioned, carefully presented and supported through meaningful engagement before, during and after the presentation period.
Projects may include:
Exhibition presentation
Curatorial and project development
Artistic research or contextual development
Professional engagement
Communication and outreach
Targeted viewings or gatherings
Introductions where appropriate
Documentation
Follow-up activity
Each project is shaped individually according to the artistic position, project context and intended outcome.
Collaborations
A&M may collaborate with:
Galleries developing a Berlin or German context
Artists seeking a focused international presentation
Curators developing cross-border projects
Cultural organisations looking for a Berlin partner
Institutions, collectors, patrons or sponsors supporting international cultural exchange
Interdisciplinary practitioners working across art, design, architecture, research or public engagement
Projects are selective and must align with the wider A&M programme.
Project Principles
A&M’s international collaborations are defined through artistic context, exhibition presentation, communication, professional engagement and follow-up.
The physical presentation is one part of a wider project structure. The wider value lies in how the work is encountered, discussed, contextualised and developed through the surrounding activity.
Where appropriate, A&M can provide project information or supporting materials for institutional, cultural or partnership contexts. The correct structure depends on the project, country, applicant type and intended outcome.
Starting a Conversation
Artists, galleries, curators and cultural organisations interested in developing a Berlin-based project are welcome to contact us with a short introduction and relevant links.
We will review whether the project may be a fit for the A&M programme and, where appropriate, discuss possible structures and next steps.
