What determines what an image can become?

How do colour, medium and technique shape what is made, and how does time alter what survives?

This presentation explores how available materials, new colours, technical limitations and changing processes influence visual form and artistic ideas.

It also considers what happens afterwards: fading, wear, repair, fragmentation and loss, and how these changes affect the way we understand what remains.

How much of the image we see today is the image that was originally made?

The investigation is activated through works by the participating artists, whose details appear at the end of the presentation. The sequence moves from possibility, through process and change, towards survival, reflecting how materials and techniques shape what can be made before time determines what remains for us to see.
